His Majesty the King has also sent a gracious message through e Admiralty to all personnel concerned at Home and Abroad

"Once again the Royal Navy has assumed protection of the British Empire on the seas of the world and I would like to assure you and through you the Officers and Men serving in the Fleet of my convictions that whatever the future has in store their conduct and courage will bring added lustre to its long history. It was my high privilège to serve with them when they were last on active service. My thoughts will always be with them now. George R. I,"

We owe much to the Royal Navy of whom we are now part.

It will be our earnest endeavour to uphold the great traditions of that service.

Commander,H.K.R.N.V.R.,
